Luxurious Herbal Spa Day Recipes!

Join Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, in a heavenly workshop designed to excite your sense of smell, touch and feel. Discover the magical world of herbs & aromatherapy for relaxing and rejuvenating body care. This class will introduce you to a range of carefully selected recipes to promote relaxation, calm the mind, and encourage complete surrender. In this hands-on class you will be creating Sensuous Scrubs, Dreamy Soaks, Fizzzing Shower Steamers, and Magical Hydrating Oils to help you wind down and ease your worries away. Come craft your own blends that invite deep, rejuvenating rest and leave you ready for your own relaxing spa day!

The Botanical Soap & Candle Class!
Immerse yourself in this hands-on class and learn to make your own decorative, personalized soap and candles, for yourself or as a gift!  We will be making a Flower Embedded, Goat Milk, Melt & Pour Soap and a Flower Embedded Scented Container Candle to take home!  Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, will provide the tools and materials, for making these creative projects. We will be using natural elements, like herbal and food powders, clays, and micas for our color, essential oils for our scent, and moisturizing melt & pour soap and soy wax for our candle. You will choose your own scents and colors, then get to work creating your unique items of beauty. Get ready to have some fun and get creative!
Wild Edible & Medicinal Herb Walk
Just a few steps outside your door lies a world of plants waiting to be discovered!  Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, will guide you on this introduction to identifying common and abundant “weeds” that make some of our very best wild foods and medicines.  Here in Vermont, for at least half of the year, we can find dozens of nutritious and healing plants to incorporate into our meals!  We will identify local plant species, discuss parts of the plants used, when to harvest them and even do some taste-testing.  You will go home with wild food recipes and a new appreciation for Vermont’s local wild plants.  Local eating at its best, both fresh and free!
Mini Barn Quilt Therapy with a Botanical Flair
Join the Vermont barn quilt movement!  Learn to make your own Painted Mini Barn Quilt for inside your home or office! Ever wonder how it’s done?  Well, now’s your chance to find out!  Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, will provide the tools, materials, and techniques for making this creative project. Choose your stencil pattern and favorite acrylic paint colors, then get to work creating your unique barn quilt on a primed wooden board. When done we will add pressed botanical flowers and leaves to the board giving it a 2-dimensional appearance. Barn quilts add coziness and character to any space of your home, any time of the season! Come have some fun!

Honoring Herbal Traditions – Eight Month Herbal Studies Program

Are you interested in holistic wellness for yourself, the animals and the earth?  Join Kelley Robie and get to know the plants and their healing ways for an entire growing season.  Located in Milton, Vermont, on a working horse farm, we will share woods, fields, wetlands and gardens as our natural classroom teacher.  Learn to care for the land where your plants grow and develop your connection with the plant as teacher, spirit and friend.  This course is open to all skill levels!

Our areas of study will include:

  • Organ systems of the body and herbal support of each system
  • Diet and nutrition, including detox and fasting
  • Herb walks and plant identification
  • Herbal preparations: teas, tinctures, syrups, salves, infused oils etc.
  • Ethical wildcrafting and plant conservation
  • Herbal first aid
  • Women’s health, pregnancy & childbirth, men’s health
  • Children’s health
  • Companion animal health
  • Field trips
  • Introduction to Iridology

Dates:  One Saturday a month from April to November, 9am to 5pm.  Maximum 12 participants. Dates: TBD

Meals:  We will have a vegetarian potluck each Saturday for lunch.  Students are asked to bring a dish to share with the class. Tea, fruit and a green salad will be provided at each class.

Cost:  $1000 includes all materials, textbook and membership to United Plant Savers.  A $100 non-refundable deposit check is required to hold your class space.  Pre-registration required.  Work-study position available.
